The modified version of the buoy has been
deployed on site with all its instrumentation the 16
of May 2002. Some images of the deployment are shown
in Fig. 10. Soon after this deployment, the non-nominal
behavior of the buoy was identified, in particular an
abnormal lowering of the buoy. When a clear analysis
of what was happening was possible, and when the weather
became workable, a ship was sent on site. It was unfortunately
too late and the full system was lost. The cause of the
sunk is a leakage of the main floatation, the exact reason
of which being unknown (probably some defect of the construction).
