Thank you for your collaboration ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CONTENT OF THE ARCHIVES ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0. Hydrobios_Amundsen_README.txt (this file) 1. Data Folder YEAR/LEG : YYYY_LEG_LL (*) A leg is a determined period during which the sampling operations of the ship are scheduled. 2. Data and metadata files: . Hydrobios_YYYYlll_aaa.int (YYYY for the year, lll the leg number and aaa for the cast number) . Hydrobios_YYYYlll_info.int(Specific metadata files; one per leg) . Hydrobios_YYYlll_aaa_Net.int 4. Amundsen_Hydrobios_QAQC_Report_yyyy.pdf . Quality Control reports; 1 per year 5. Ancillary information: . Hydrobios_Metadata.csv file, provides the list of all existing casts by year, leg, and region . Hydrobios_Metadata_Shapefile.zip provides a shapefile of the casts location - 2003-2004 and 2007-2008 were overwintering expeditions, for consistency within the notation, folders and files' names start with the year in which the expedition started (this is why 2004 data are within 2003 files). - Hydrobios was not used every years - See Hydrobios_Metadata.csv for more information. - No data were collected in 2012, the vessel was in maintenance (dry docks). CAUTION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The calculation of the sampling volume of the nets is approximate. The ratio, the tilt and the distance traveled are not exactly known. For example, the traveled distance used in the calculation does not take into account cable winding. The volume is ONLY PROVIDED FOR GENERAL INFORMATION. ArcticNet and Amundsen Science are not responsible for these calculations. Each user should verify the volume values. DATA CONTROL AND VARIABLES DEFINITION ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The QAQC reports contain all the information about the instruments, sensors, precision, QAQC processes, variable definitions and more. ---END------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please, do not hesitate to send us suggestions or comments. We welcome your feedbacks. Thank you.
